Help us evaluate the Enhancing Primary Care programme

Since May 2015, Sheffield citizens have been working with health and social care providers, such as Primary Care Sheffield and Sheffield City Council, to increase access to primary care and social care services as part of the Enhancing Primary Care Programme. We are now starting the process of evaluating the programme and we need a group of twelve citizens with experience of using health and social care services to join the Evaluation Group.

The group will be made up of citizens and led by Sheffield Hallam University, who have been appointed by Primary Care Sheffield to evaluate the pilot project. Citizen input has been an essential part of this work so far and we want to ensure people interested in primary care and social care services can comment on the outcomes and impact of the provision.

What will I need to do?

The group will meet three times in 2016. The first meeting will take place on Tuesday 2 February, from 1pm to 3.30pm, in Reception Room A at Sheffield Town Hall. We are also planning to meet in early June and November. The dates of future meetings will be confirmed at the initial meeting.

A range of methods will be used to enable you to comment and develop the evaluation processes in meetings. All meetings will be held in an accessible venue and we can provide information in different formats, on request. Please let us know if you require support or adjustments to attend meetings. If you would prefer to feedback your views in other ways, such as via telephone, email or online surveys, then we can support you to do so.

At the meetings information, such as reports, data and case studies will be provided about the different projects within the programme. Information will be provided in a way that is easy to understand, to support you to take part in decision making. You will be asked to consider and comment on this information and make recommendations from a citizen perspective about how to develop health and social care services in the future.

What skills do I need?

Members of the group will need to be able to:

  • Review information
  • Comment on documents
  • Work with other citizens and research staff
  • Take part in discussions and decision making
