Primary Care Sheffield will continue to provide additional appointments to help the City’s health services cope with the exceptional pressures they are currently experiencing.
Over recent weeks the organisation has been providing around 825 extra appointments a week for patients in Sheffield and has now received additional funding which will allow it to continue providing that temporary additional capacity until at least Saturday 18th February.
The additional appointments are all provided by primary care staff including GPs, Paramedics, and Advanced Nurse Practitioners. They include home-visits, and specific appointments for children and for people experiencing acute respiratory illnesses.
Appointments will be provided in four primary care hubs run by Primary Care Sheffield across the City. All appointments are made available to Sheffield GP practices who can book for their patients as required.
