Event series: Working together to shape the future of General Practice in Sheffield

General Practice is being eroded and our identity and value in the system is being lost. This reduces our leverage to be recognised for what we offer, undermines our team’s sense of purpose, and reduces our ability to attract investment and staff.

We invite representatives of general practice in Sheffield together in a series of three professionally facilitated sessions, to shape a shared vision for the future of General Practice in Sheffield and to identify practical actions that will deliver meaningful change.

Anyone engaged in General Practice within Sheffield, whether GP, nurse Practice manager or wider team is welcome. We simply ask that you commit to attend at least 2 of the 3 sessions and contribute with optimism and hope putting aside any biases related to your position and organisation.

We plan to engage all practices on the outputs of the workshops at a citywide General Practice Summit in September.

Team involved

This initiative has been instigated by a group of Sheffield GPs (Dr Ben Allen, Dr Ollie Hart, Dr Andy HIlton, Dr Tom Holdsworth, and Dr Zac McMurray) who, after speaking with numerous colleagues, believe that collective action is required to help general practice in Sheffield thrive in a changing landscape.  If you would like more central involvement in shaping approach, please email pcs.enquiries@nhs.net as we would like to explore with you further. The initiative is being supported by the ICB.
