Booking an Appointment

To book an appointment on the same day with a GP/Nurse, please ring the surgery on 0114 5518800 or visit the reception desk at 8am. If you ring on the day and all the appointments have been taken you may be offered a call back by a GP/nurse to assess your urgency.

Telephone Advice/Triage
Many common illnesses can be treated at home without the need to see a doctor or a nurse. If you need advice telephone the surgery between 08:00 and 10:30 am and the receptionist will arrange for the triage nurse to help you. Our nurses are extensively trained to assess the urgency of an appointment should you need one. If you have a general enquiry for a GP or nurse, our receptionist will take a message and agree a suitable time when you can be called.

I need a home-visit
If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:30 if you require a home visit.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Interpreter
If you require an interpreter, please ask at the time of booking.
