Cyper has been a qualified Nurse for over 30 years covering different specialities of medicine within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS FT. He has been doing cancer research for the last 13 years specialising in gastrointestinal cancers and based at Weston Park Hospital, Cancer Clinical Trials Centre (CCTC).
His interest in research led him to complete MSci in Health Research in 2017 and did a systematic review on the impact of specialist nurses in the outpatient setting as his dissertation. As a Senior Research Charge Nurse, he led two service audits, one relating to wastage of medicine in CCTC’s purpose-built chemotherapy unit on how to manage materials and medicines in preventing wastage. The other one was an audit that determine why patients accepts or declines clinical trials. The results of these audits were presented to UKONS, NCRI and ESMO conferences.
Cyper has joined Primary Care Sheffield in July 2022 and with his experience, skills, and background knowledge in research, he will be a good resource in terms of research governance. It is also envisioned that he will support Primary Care Sheffield research team to grow in the future.
