“People often avoid participating in research due to a lack of trust, concerns over data security, or simply because they’ve never been asked in a way that resonates with them,” said Professor Roxanne Crosby-Nwaobi (Moorfield’s Eye Hospital).
“These videos are about making research relevant, trustworthy, and inclusive for everyone.”

Primary Care Sheffield took part in the Sheffield celebration of International Clinical Trials Day (ICTD) on 18th May 2025. “Public involvement is the goal of clinical research and this year’s ICTD has proven to be effective as we saw roughly around 300 excited participants. They were hands on trying out mock research.” said Cyper Allan, our Lead Research Nurse.
“We’re not just talking about communities we’re working with them,” added Professor Crosby-Nwaobi. “This approach is already proving more impactful than traditional outreach.”
Promoting inclusive research is not only about fairness, it’s about better science. By ensuring underrepresented communities are heard, researchers can develop more effective, tailored interventions that improve health equity and advance social justice.
