Primary Care Networks are able, through Primary Care Sheffield, to employ physiotherapists to allow practices to extend their clinical team, release GP time, and offer patients the opportunity to access the most appropriate health professional for their needs.
The First Contact Physiotherapy service allows people to see a physiotherapist without having to be referred to the hospital. This allows issues to be addresses earlier and ultimately improves patient outcomes. The physios help with Musculo-Skeletal (MSK) issues as well as management of long-term conditions such as lower back pain or arthritis.
