Our Services

Non-scalpel vasectomy service

Non-scalpel vasectomy is a procedure which does not use a scalpel to make an incision in the scrotum. Specially designed fine instruments are used to bring the tubes out through a single midline keyhole in the scrotal skin before they are divided separately, and heat sealed. The advantages of this procedure compared with the conventional scalpel method are:

  • No stitches at any stage of the procedure including the skin.
  • Reduced complications, for example pain, bleeding, haematoma (clot in the scrotum), and infections.
  • Shorter operating time.
  • Quicker recovery.

Initial vasectomy consultation

The pre-procedure consultation is carried out via phone call which means patients do not have to take time out of their day to attend an appointment in surgery, the consultations usually last around 30 minutes and are an important opportunity to discuss the procedure and answer questions about the vasectomy. Many men feel very informed about the procedure and possible complications, but the consultation remains an important part of the process.

Follow-up semen testing

A semen analysis determines whether a vasectomy was successful.

Booking an Appointment

If you are thinking of having a Vasectomy you should discuss this first with your GP. Your GP will then be able to refer you to our service.

We will not refuse anyone an appointment on the grounds of age, marital status, or because they have no children.  However, your youngest child (if you have one) should ideally be at least six months old.
